Predictive Stress Modeling of Resilient Modulus in Sandy Subgrade Soils

چکیده
The mechanical properties of pavement materials are crucial to the design and performance flexible pavements. One most commonly used measures these is resilient modulus (Er). Many different models were developed predict coarse soils, which based on states stresses physical soil. unconsolidated unsaturated drained cyclic triaxial tests performed for three variously graded well-graded sand specimens determine modulus, perform predictive modeling using K-?, Rahim George, Uzan, Universal Witczak models. Obtained Er values directly depended confining pressure deviatoric stress during test. Octahedral Shear Stress (OSS) model, proposed by authors paper, predicts with a coefficient determination (R2) ranging from 0.85 0.99. advantage model use small-scale data tables, meaning fixed K1 K2 regression coefficients, it can be assigned specific specimen type without need them stresses.

Estimation of Subgrade Resilient Modulus Using the Unconfined Compression Test
To facilitate pavement design, the new proposed mechanistic-empirical pavement design guide recommends the resilient modulus to characterize subgrade soil and its use for calculating pavement responses attributable to traffic and environmental loading. Although resilient modulus values could be determined through laboratory testing of actual subgrade soil samples, such testing would require sig...

In order to implement MEPDG hierarchical inputs for unbound and subgrade soil, a database containing subgrade M R , index properties, standard proctor, and laboratory M R for 140 undisturbed roadbed soil samples from six different districts in Indiana was created. The M R data were categorized in accordance with the AASHTO soil classifications and divided into several groups. Based on each grou...

called maximum shear modulus, Gmax. It can be determined by in-situ methods from the measurements of the shear wave velocity, Vs, by means of crosshole, down-hole, up-hole, or surface wave testing. The relationship between maximum shear modulus and shear wave velocity is rigorous: 2 max s G V where ρ is soil density. This parameter can be also obtained in laboratory by resonant column or ...
متن کاملDetermination of arsenic in sandy soils.
The analysis of arsenic in soil requires a procedure which is capable of releasing microgram quantities from a complex matrix and eliminating interferences for a specific determination. Kingsley and Schaffert ( I ) have described microdetermination of arsenic in biological material, using concentrated hydrochloric acid for digesting the sample. Beard and Lyerly ( 2 ) have applied the selective ...
